all right once again Fabtech Atlanta

Georgia technology speed dating on

Industrial talk and we’re going to be

talking to Rob about this technology Rob

how are you doing today good good

excellent take us through what’s going

on I’m going to have you do this this is

a Hands-On for you all right let’s do it

so our software is app base literally

nothing on the do on the teach Bennett

people know how to use iPhones tablets

web browsers oh yeah so I’m going to

show you and then you’re going to do it

we got two buttons If I press and hold

the top button I can move the robot

around

the other button is going to do some

magic with the app okay so this is a

cloud-based system yes so I’m going to

have you create a part okay the top

button you can move it press and hold

the top button move it around look at

that well there’s no torch angles right

they know where they would put it if

they were going to weld it wow and then

it just stops right there yep and then

it then it from that perspective I’ve

locked this angle in this this setup and

it’s it’s over here yeah but we’re gonna

I’m gonna have you actually teach a

partner we’re gonna run it so let’s hit

the button here the blue button Blue

Button yep give it a part name so

customer would be putting in a part name

or something whatever you want good

Burger perfect because that’s my big fat

fingers we’ll do next yep customers that

say weld procedures can call them up

here we’ll just choose the URL hit use

these settings so these are like the yep

using settings these are like a default

welding parameters now it’s ready for

linear weld so I’m gonna have you bring

it here we’ll teach a little weld on

it’s a top button to move it

and yep so think of it like connect the

dots right when you get to the first

point

press and release the bottom blue button

press and release it there you go

so now let’s top button the green one

we’re going to move to the end

don’t don’t say it I’m gonna do it now

I just did it because it’s going to say

I gotta go across there that’s right so

we’ll hit save oh

so we just saved that part now we got to

tell the robot we want to run this park

right people know Apple music Spotify

right so we use the concept called the

playlist we have a play button but we

got to tell the robot what do we want to

play so it’s telling us do you want to

create a playlist with this part yeah so

I’m going to select that for you but you

can have multiple songs or multiple

Parts in your playlist to run different

combinations of things now let’s hit

play

it approached the well check it out I

did I did that

check it out then it goes home and so if

you were ready to weld you would flip

this key switch you would hit play

and you’d be back you know getting it

again yep

oh isn’t that just user friendly

built for welders okay feel for

production built for everything that is

just and and the quality of the well the

the the speed all of this you know it it

can’t just go across fast there’s a rate

that it’s automatically sort of says

okay I got to keep it at this rate yep

whatever the wire the the Miller

whatever it might be exactly right so

customers can set all that and control

all that they want it to weld yep and it

does what they tell it to do that’s

pretty cool

pretty easy

yeah how long you guys been in business

uh seven years really

rough fantastic excellent job check this

out hire buy right did I say that

robotics All Right company all right

Universal robot thank you very much

again technology speed Bob was great

fantastic all right we’re gonna have

another great conversation coming from

fab Tech shortly so stay tuned we will

be right back you’re listening to the
