Cobot Painter · Industry first

Speed & consistency with a collaborative painting cobot

Most paint robots require complex programming and specialists. The Cobot Painter doesn't. Control every part from a phone or tablet. Setup takes minutes, coatings stay consistent, waste and rework drop.

Applications

Painting automation for your team, no specialists required

Large parts, small batches, or complex geometries all get smooth, repeatable finishes through intuitive, no-code controls.

Powder

Powder coating

Consistent coverage and reduced waste. Smooth, durable finishes with precision control, ideal for high-mix low-volume production.

Liquid

Liquid coatings

From primers to top coats, even spray patterns and repeatable finishes with minimal overspray.

Conveyor

Conveyor line tracking, coming soon

The Line Tracking add-on will apply paint exactly where automated lines fall short, filling in missed areas without slowing the line.

Manual booth

Roll into a manual booth

Roll the cobot into a manual paint booth, coat parts, and roll it back out. No permanent install, no disruption.

Comparison

Cobot painting vs. traditional paint booths

For shops that have outgrown hand-spraying but aren't ready for a full automation line, the cobot is the practical middle ground.

Questions

You have questions, we have answers

What types of coatings can it handle?

Powder, liquid, and specialty coatings, including primers and top coats. Coverage stays consistent, with minimal overspray and less waste. Versatile for high-mix, low-volume finishing work.

Do I need programming experience?

No. Your team teaches spray paths by hand-guiding the teaching handle at the end of the arm, shaped like a spray gun, then adjusts spray speed, pattern, and coverage directly in the Beacon app. No coding or robotics experience required.

Is it safe to use around people?

Yes. The FANUC CRX-10iA/L Paint is the world's first explosion-proof collaborative paint cobot. It's certified IECEx and ATEX with approvals for the U.S., Canada, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and Brazil. Built-in force sensing lets it work safely alongside your team in spray environments.

How is this different from traditional paint robots?

Traditional paint robots need specialists, complex programming, dedicated paint cells, and large footprints. The Cobot Painter is lightweight, portable, and taught through the Beacon app. Roll it into an existing manual booth or onto a line, with no new construction or infrastructure.

How long does setup take?

Most shops are painting the same day. Set spray paths quickly, adjust coverage and patterns on the fly, and reposition the portable stand wherever it's needed.

Can it reach large or complex parts?

Yes. With a 55.8" (1,418 mm) reach and a unique underflip motion, it accesses large workpieces and difficult spray angles that pose ergonomic challenges for human operators.
